Lyes completed his Ph.D on numerical modelling in fluid dynamics at Pierre et Marie Curie University, France in October 2011. His thesis was entitled "Linear stability analysis of rotating free surface flow". During his Master’s degree he had an academic training in subjects related to general hydrodynamic instabilities and multiphase flows.
